For the third year in a row a Texas Tech alum will be playing in the Super Bowl. This fact was actually determined last week when Danny Amendola’s New England Patriots and Louis Vasquez’ Denver Broncos both won to advance to the AFC championship game. As a result of Sunday’s 20-18 win by the Broncos, Vasquez will be playing in the Super Bowl for the second time in three years.
In 2014, the Broncos appeared in Super Bowl 48 against the Seattle Seahawks. That version of the Broncos featured three former Red Raider football players: Louis Vasquez, fellow guard Manny Ramirez and receiver Wes Welker.
