Three-star power forward Tyreek Smith from Trinity Christian-Cedar Hill announced via Twitter on Saturday that he has committed to playing collegiate basketball at Texas Tech.
The 6-foot-8 Smith was initially committed to Texas A&M, but asked for a release from his letter of intent following word that head coach Billy Kennedy would not be returning for the 2019-20 season.
According to 247Sports, Smith is ranked as the 15th-best recruit out of Texas and the 25th-best power forward in the nation.
