Donny Anderson considers himself lucky. He played nine years in the NFL, he turns 72 next month and his mind’s good, other than what he chalks up to normal aging.
Asked Thursday how many concussions, to the best of his knowledge, he suffered playing football, the former Texas Tech all-American said, “Oh, about one a week.”
Then, more seriously, “I have been tested by the Dallas Brain Center and the best that can be determined by his testing is I have had seven.”
