Texas Tech announced Wednesday that former Oklahoma State head coach Sean Sutton has joined the men's basketball staff as an advisor to head coach Chris Beard. Sutton was an assistant coach at Oklahoma State from 1993-2006 and was the head coach from 2006-08.

Sutton was 39-29 with the Cowboys and resigned in April 2008. He was arrested in 2010 for trying to illegally obtain prescription painkillers after developing an addiction.
