ABILENE — It was closer than what Tim Tadlock would have preferred, but for the second time this season the Texas Tech Red Raiders picked up a one-run win over Abilene Christian on Tuesday night.
Tech, which is ranked 19th in the nation, used a plethora of two-out runs to knock off the Wildcats 7-6 at Crutcher Scott Field to move to 23-14 on the season.
“(Drew Hanson) did a good job of throwing strikes and minimized some innings,” Tadlock said. “They played a better and cleaner game than we did.”
On three different occasions, Tech batters fell behind in the count 0-and-2 and came back to draw a walk.
