Football Writers name three Big 12 players first-team all-Americans

Baylor wide receiver Corey Coleman, Bears tackle Spencer Drango and TCU wide receiver Josh Doctson were the Big 12’s first-team honorees on the Football Writers Association of America’s all-America team released Monday.

Coleman caught 74 passes for 1,363 yards and a nation-leading 20 touchdowns, Doctson caught 79 passes for 1,327 yards and 14 TDs despite missing the last two regular-season games with a wrist injury.

Coleman and Drango helped Baylor averaged 48 points and 605 yards per game, both best in the FBS during the regular season.

Also on the first team are Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry from Alabama and LSU running back Leonard Fournette, who’ll play against Texas Tech later this month at the Texas Bowl.
