The latest of graduate transfers coming to Texas Tech is a California native, Evan Rambo. Rambo committed to the University of California as a three star recruit over an offer to San Diego State and interest from USC and UCLA. At Cal, Rambo played as a safety and linebacker, racking up career stats of 34 tackles (four for a loss, two sacks) and one career interception in 22 games wearing the Cal logo.

Rambo tore his ACL in the fourth game of the 2016 season and missed that plus the 2017 with a redshirt.
