TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida State center fielder Ben DeLuzio scored four runs, after reaching just once on a base hit, and the fifth-ranked Seminoles beat No. 19 Texas Tech 10-1 Tuesday in a two-game series opener.
Florida State (20-6) took advantage of 10 walks, three hit batsmen and two errors to put away Tech (20-9). The two teams will finish the series at 5 p.m. CDT Wednesday at Dick Howser Stadium.
DeLuzio, the Seminoles’ 6-hole hitter, walked and scored in the second inning, walked and scored in the fourth, was hit by a pitch and scored in the sixth and singled and scored in the seventh.
