If you have been paying any attention to the number one ranked track and field team in the nation, the name Divine Oduduru won’t be lost on you. Coming to Texas Tech via his home in Nigeria, Oduduru stacked the Red Raider team with Olympic level speed. This past weekend he exemplified the Olympian title by taking gold in his 100m and 200m events at the Michael Johnson Invitational in Waco.
In his 100m event, Oduduru shot out of the blocks and maintained breakneck speed to clock a 9.95s time that was good enough to be fastest in the world for this year and the first Red Raider ever to do so.
