Throughout most of the offseason, it appeared sophomore Jett Duffey was the frontrunner to be Texas Tech's starting quarterback. Then a report surfaced recently that junior McLane Carter was taking most of the snaps with the first team.
Now head coach Kliff Kingsbury may have subliminally hinted that Carter is indeed the frontrunner.
In a Big 12 teleconference on Monday, Kingsbury was asked about the difference in quarterbacks who have to wait their turn to start as opposed to those who start early in their collegiate career.
"When they do sit a number of years, I do know their teammates, their coaches have a great appreciation for that," Kingsbury said.
