Devin Lauderdale caught seven touchdown passes last season, all in the last seven games and most of them on deep throws.
If the Texas Tech wide receiver had the advantage of being an unknown at this time last year, that edge is gone now.
What’s not gone is his desire to do more.
“I feel like I’m a key target this year,” Lauderdale said. “I’m one of the main receivers. I’m definitely ready to step up and make plays.”
The 5-foot-10, 183-pound junior from Bellaire averaged 51 yards per touchdown catch last season. Lauderdale’s 31 receptions for 589 yards make him Tech’s second-leading returning receiver in both categories, so the Red Raiders need him to be good right from the start this season.
