The College Baseball Foundation’s annual Hall of Fame induction day will have an extra sizzle this year.
On Thursday, the foundation announced groundbreaking on a long-awaited museum and baseball field. Staff and board members will break ground on the Moody National College Baseball Hall of Fame Complex at 10 a.m. Monday at the site, which is the northeast corner of Mac Davis Lane and Avenue O.
The board approved $5.3 million worth of construction, said Mike Gustafson, president and CEO of the College Baseball Foundation.
“We’ve reached a point in our fundraising that we can do a reasonable amount of construction on the field and building,” Gustafson said Thursday.
