MINNEAPOLIS - With Texas Tech on the eve of its biggest men’s basketball game ever, guard Matt Mooney experienced a flashback.
Just before summer workouts began in Lubbock nine months ago, coach Chris Beard addressed the team with words that seem prescient now.
“He said, ‘Don’t get it twisted [because] we have a lot of work to do, but we have enough in this team right here to play on the final Monday,’” Money recalled. “When he said that, we all believed and now we have a chance to get to the final Monday.”
Now, Mooney suggests that Beard might be psychic.
