As reported earlier, Texas Tech football’s Da’Leon Ward was arrested Tuesday afternoon for theft of between $2,500 and $30,000, which is a state jail felony.
According to the Lubbock-Avalanche Journal, the theft “stems from a Texas Tech Police Department investigation initiated after a string of Nov. 14 thefts at the Tech Student Recreation Center. Three cell phones were reported stolen in about a 20-minute time frame.”
Tray Payne, Ward’s attorney tweeted this earlier:
The reason for dismissal is quoted above as “The interest of Justice cannot be served through further proceeding in this matter.
