Even with all of this baseball news, some football news has been made official. Junior running back Da’Leon Ward has announced that he will be entering his name into the transfer portal and leave Texas Tech. The running back was looked at as someone who would contribute this season in the backfield.
Ward came to Texas Tech in 2016 and made an immediate impact in the backfield, starting a couple of games and becoming someone the team looked forward to having back in 2017. Ward then ran into some academic trouble and was redshirted the entire 2017 season.
