Big 12 championship race has come down to this Mack Brown philosophy, but Texas isn't the one putting it into practice

As the football calendar turned, Mack Brown used to muse about how people would remember what happened in November, with games rising in importance.

Current Texas coach Tom Herman even got asked about the Mack-ism last week.

Oklahoma and West Virginia turned the philosophy into practice in November’s first weekend, generating plenty of memories and two season-altering plays that could be key if the Big 12 co-leaders eventually meet in the conference title game at AT&T Stadium on Dec. 1.

Of course, Iowa State and others might have something to say about the matchup.

One was a gutsy two-point conversion, with West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen going all-in on quarterback Will Grier and his offense against Texas.
