Amway college football coaches poll: State of Texas shut out as Longhorns drop out of top 25

After an opening weekend in which Texas, Baylor and Texas A&M all lost in embarrassing fashion, the state of Texas has no schools represented in the newest Amway Coaches Poll.

Texas was No. 23 in the first coaches poll of the season, which was released in early August. Baylor and A&M were unranked.

TCU was one of the state's lone bright spots during Week 1. The Horned Frogs dismantled Jackson State, 63-0. They had the third most points of all unranked teams in the preseason poll, and moved up two spots to be the team outside the top 25 with the most votes in the newest poll.
