The Red Raiders had the opportunity, on paper at least, to head into the turn toward the latter half of Big 12 play with at least a .500 record.
Not because Texas Tech’s opponents were lower in the conference standings but because the games were in the United Supermarkets Arena.
Tech took care of the first game, holding off TCU by outscoring the Horned Frogs 11-5 down the stretch when the game was tied with 4:50 to play.
However, that same attack the Red Raiders deployed against TCU was absent as Oklahoma State’s hot shooting led the Cowboys to a 19-point victory over the home team.
