Here are five things Texas Tech fans need to know about the Red Raiders' Week 3 opponent, Houston:
1. Houston gave Kliff Kingsbury his
first college coaching gig
Not long after his five-year professional career as a quarterback, Kingsbury joined Houston's coaching staff for the 2008 season as a quality control coach.
He was promoted to quarterbacks coach in 2010, and then co-offensive coordinator in 2011.
During the 2011 season, Houston averaged 599.1 total yards per game and over 49 points per game while Kingsbury was calling the plays. That eventually earned him the offensive coordinator gig at Texas A&M.
