Here are five takeaways from Texas Tech's 17-14 road win over TCU on Thursday.
1. Texas Tech wins playing Duffey ball
After Texas Tech’ loss to West Virginia, head coach Kliff Kingsbury took responsibility for sophomore quarterback Jett Duffey’s two interceptions, saying he “needed to give him stuff that he was comfortable with.”
In his first college football start, Kingsbury designed the Red Raiders’ offense around short slant passes and utilized Duffey’s athleticism rather than using the normal air-raid offense.
In the first half, it wasn't pretty against the Big 12’s third-ranked running defense.
