With a new coaching staff and plenty of turnover on the roster, expectations for Texas Tech are fairly modest. Here are five reasons to be optimistic about the Red Raiders in 2019:
1. Alan Bowman is taking over
After an impressive eight games last season, it seemed to be a foregone conclusion that Alan Bowman would be the Red Raiders' season-opening starting quarterback. That became even more evident after senior McLane Carter announced his transfer last month (he's since committed to Rutgers). Bowman threw for 2,638 yards last season before a partially collapsed lung derailed his season.
