5 key issues for Texas Tech heading into fall camp: Who will start at running back?

Spring football has come and gone. Here are five issues facing Texas Tech with fall camp on the horizon:

Sorting out the running back depth chart

Texas Tech returns two quality running backs in sophomore Ta'Zhawn Henry and junior De'Leon Ward.

Ward was last season's starter before injuries limited him to nine games. He and Henry finished tied with 341 rushing yards last season. However, Henry had eight rushing touchdowns compared to Ward's three.

Matt Wells and the coaching staff will have to figure out who will be the starter.

Replacing key losses on defense

Not only did Texas Tech lose some of its vocal leaders on defense, it also lost three of its top producers in linebacker Dakota Allen, defensive back Vaughnte Dorsey and safety Jah'Shawn Johnson.
