SAN MARCOS, Texas – Thanks to some of the best marks in the nation recorded this past weekend at the Charles Austin Classic in San Marcos, Texas State women's track and field team cracked the USTFCCCA's national top-25 for the first time as it was ranked No. 24 in the first NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field rankings of the season.
The men's team, meanwhile, was ranked No. 33 as both programs notched their highest rankings ever since the start of the USTFCCCA's archives that date back to 2008.
For the women's team, it is the first time it has cracked the national top-25 rankings since 1995 when it finished the season tied for 24th in the final rankings.
