SAN MARCOS, Texas - Josefina Cassara won an individual championship, and Hana Kvapilova finished in third place to lead Texas State women's tennis team at the Texas State Play Day tournament on Saturday at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
The Bobcats combined for 10 individual victories and won a pair of doubles matches in the tournament.
Cassara surrendered just two points in her two singles matches after teaming with Kvapilova to beat Prairie View A&M's Victoria Fuenmayor Castillo and Mahogani Green by the score of 7-5. Cassara shut out Jimena Duran Castellanos of Prairie View A&M, 6-0, 6-0, in her first singles matches.
