Tempe, Ariz.- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced Tuesday that the Texas State women's tennis team has earned an Academic Team Award and that six Bobcats have been named ITA Scholar-Athletes during the 2016-17 academic year.
Texas State received an ITA All-Academic Team award for the second straight year after maintaining a 3.62 cumulative grade point average in 2016-17. The award is open to any team with a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
Individually, Pippa Carr, Eva Dench, Joy Chia Ming Ming, Ana Perez, Yadira Rubio and Ammaarah Tim earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors after maintaining a GPA of 3.
