KYLE, Texas – Texas State women's golf captured its first team championship of the season with a 34-stroke lead and sophomore Mattingly Palmer earned her first individual championship with a comeback win at the Texas State Invitational Tuesday, Feb. 7 at Plum Creek Golf Club.
"This was a great start to our spring semester," said women's golf head coach Par Nilsson. "Matti's win is big and we also had many other positives this event. Four players in the top-6 and a 34-shot win is a very solid tournament."
The Bobcats finished first by 34 strokes in a field of eight, the team was three-under par and finished the tournament seven-over.
