NEW ORLEANS – A career best performance on the rubber in the series opener against Marshall resulted in Texas State's Levi Wells being named the Sun Belt Conference's Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday.
It is the second time this season that the right-hander has earned the honor. In his career, Wells has been chosen as the league's Pitcher of the Week four times and is the most ever by a Bobcat hurler.
Friday saw the La Porte, Texas native set a career-high with 13 strikeouts in the complete game victory. His strikeout total is tied for the most by a Sun Belt pitcher this season.
