MOBILE, Ala. – The Texas State baseball team fell 9-4 to South Alabama Saturday night in a Sun Belt Conference game contested at Stanky Field.
The Bobcats (22-22, 9-11 SBC) dropped their seventh game in a row, while the Jaguars (27-17, 14-6 SBC) clinched the series victory after winning Friday's opener 8-3.
USA sent 13 batters to the plate and scored five runs in the opening frame. The early deficit proved to be too much to overcome for the maroon and gold. TXST was able to counter with two runs in each of the seventh and eighth innings, but the home team scored one additional tally in the second to go along with three more across the seventh and eighth frames to close out the scoring.
