SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Sun Belt Conference announced Monday that Texas State quarterback Tyler Vitt has been named the Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week after helping lead Texas State to a 27-19 victory over ULM last Saturday.
Making his second start of the season, Vitt completed 16-of-31-passes for 262 yards and a touchdown and ran for 37 yards on six carries against the Warhawks.
Vitt helped set up the first points in the game when he ran for six yards and, on the next play, pushed the pile forward to help Jahmyl Jeter convert a 4th-down-and-1 play on a drive that led to a field goal.
