SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State senior Ronnie Briscoe, Jr. advanced to the NCAA Division I Championships on June 9-12 in Eugene, Ore. after leaping 7.71 meters (25' 3.5") in the men's long jump at the NCAA West Preliminaries on May 26 at College Station, Texas.
The 7.71 meters is the longest legal jump in Briscoe's career and came in the third and final round at the NCAA Preliminary. He opened the competition with a wind-aided mark of 7.21 meters (23' 8") and had another wind-aided jump of 7.67 meters (25' 2") in the second round.
