SAN MARCOS, Texas – Trailing entering the bottom of the ninth, Texas State (19-5, 4-1 Sun Belt) scored five runs but it wasn't enough as Coastal Carolina (13-8-1, 2-2-1 Sun Belt) evened the series with a 7-5 win Saturday afternoon at Bobcat Ballpark.
Taking the loss was (3-1) as he went six innings with five strikeouts but surrendered two runs on four walks and three hits. Reid VanScoter (4-1) earned the win as he struck out nine in 7.2 scoreless innings while giving up just two hits. Colin Yablonski earned his first save of the season after getting the final two outs in the ninth.
