SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State softball team (36-10, 15-2 SBC) took down archrival UTSA (18-25, 6-12 C-USA) for the second time this season, defeating the Roadrunners by a score of 5-1 on Tuesday evening at Bobcat Softball Stadium.
Texas State wasted little time offensively, scoring the game's first run in the bottom of the first inning. was hit by a pitch on a full count. Two pitches later, drove a double into the right field gap. Cranek raced around the bases, scoring without a throw to put the Bobcats up 1-0.
In the bottom of the second inning, the Bobcats scored four runs on four hits to put the game out of reach for UTSA.
