SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State baseball team collected a 14-5 victory over Purdue in the final game of the weekend series Sunday afternoon at Bobcat Ballpark.
The Bobcats (2-2) were able to secure the final two contests to earn the season-opening split with the Boilermakers (2-2).
In the series finale, Purdue initially jumped on top 2-0 with a solo run in each of the first two innings. The maroon and gold quickly answered with two in the second and then took a 4-2 lead with another pair of runs in the third.
The visitors tied the game in the top of the fourth, but it was all Bobcats after that.
