Emani Gant added 15 points and 11 rebounds for Texas State (5-2), which has won four of their last five by an average of 13.25 points per game.
Defensively, the Bobcats held Panthers (0-10) to 27.1 percent shooting from the field and just 1 of 13 from 3-point range.
Texas State opened the second half on a 14-6 stretch, capped by a Maljhum McCrea jumper to take a 44-28 lead.
