College Station, Texas – A pair of doubles victories and Julia Navajo-Melendez's win in singles highlighted the first day for the Texas State women's tennis team at the ITA Regional Championships on Oct. 18 at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center.
Seniors Ana Perez and Julia Navajo-Melendez advanced to the Round of 16 in the single elimination doubles bracket with a 6-2 victory over Marina Miquel and Camille Townsend of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. They will play No. 3-seeded Francesca Sella and Denise Antonela-Stoica of Texas Tech on Friday morning.
Joy Chia Ming Ming and Rishona Israel-Lewis advanced to the Round of 32 when they teamed up for a 6-2 victory over Kyndall Misak and Vera Carvalho of Stephen F.
