CHOUDRANT, La. – The Texas State men's golf team finished its first tournament of the season on Tuesday as it completed the third round at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate at the Squire Creek Country Club.
Playing on a par 72, 7,070-yard course, the Bobcats finished the tournament in third place after shooting a 4-over-par 292 as a team on the final day of the tournament. Texas State dropped a spot in the final round and finished the tournament with a 54-hole team total of 5-under-par 859.
No. 44-ranked UAB captured the team title with an impressive 21-under 843 and bettered South Alabama (7-under 857) by 14 strokes.
