KERRVILLE, Texas – The Texas State men's golf team posted its lowest single-round score in 25 years, and held off New Mexico State by eight strokes to win their first tournament of the season at the Big Texan Tuesday afternoon.
In the wire-to-wire victory, the Bobcats posted their lowest score since 1994 in the first round when they shot 17-under-par 271 team total on the Par-72, 7,059-yard Comanche Trail Course. Texas State shot 8-under-par during each of the final two rounds to claim its first win after finishing among the top six teams during each of its first four tournaments this spring.
