FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – In a game filled with both teams battling back and forth, Arkansas (8-3) used a decisive run in the first half and held on at the end the game to defeat Texas State (12-2), 73-70 on Saturday afternoon at Bud Walton Arena.
The Bobcats had three players score in double figures and outrebounded the Razorbacks 42-34. Tre'Larenz Nottingham led Texas State with 18 points, while Nijal Pearson netted 16 points and Jaylen Shead added a career-best 14 points and a game-high five assists.
Mason Jones led the Razorbacks with 21 points and Daniel Gafford added 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Razorbacks.
