Texas State Opens 110 Season of Football
• Texas State opens its 110th season of football when the Bobcats host the Houston Baptist on Saturday night at Bobcat Stadium. The Bobcats played their first game in 1904 and begin this season with an all-time record of 503-432-26 since 1919.
• The Bobcats enter the Houston Baptist game looking for their fourth victory in the last five season openers. Texas State began that stretch with road wins at Houston in 2012 and Southern Miss in 2013 before beating Arkansas-Pine Bluff in 2014 and falling at No. 10-ranked Florida State in 2015.
