Texas State Holds First Spring Scrimmage

SAN MARCOS, Texas- During its first spring scrimmage, the Texas State football team had some big plays and technique issues on both sides of the football when the Bobcat offense edged the defense on Saturday at Bobcat Stadium.

"There were some missed assignments that you hope not to have," head coach Everett Withers said after watching his team conclude a scrimmage that included 75 plays. "But it was like a normal first scrimmage and we have a lot of work to do."

The offense had a 75-yard run and a 20-yard run for a touchdown by Stedman Mayberry against the third-team defense.
