ATLANTA - Despite team-leading effort, the Texas State football team suffered a 28-16 loss at Georgia State in a Sun Belt Conference game on Saturday afternoon at Centre Parc Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Texas State scored on its first two offensive possessions for the first time this year when kicked a pair of 42-yard field goals to give the Bobcats an early 6-0 lead.
However, Georgia State countered with an 18-yard touchdown run up the middle by Jamyest Williams, and Noel Ruiz added the extra point for a 7-6 lead.
The Panthers extended their lead to 14-6 when Darren Granger threw a 35-yard touchdown pass to Jamari Thrash, and Ruiz added the extra point on the first play in the second quarter.
