SAN MARCOS, Texas –The Texas State Athletics Department announced Monday that it is beginning a three-phase plan that allows for the resocialization of additional Athletics staff members, coaches, and student-athletes.
The additional Athletics staff members may return to their offices on the San Marcos Campus if needed, and a group of 53 football student-athletes can begin voluntary workouts with the strength and conditioning staff in Phase 1 of the plan on June 1.
The plan for the resocialization of Texas State University student-athletes and additional staff was developed by a Continuity of Intercollegiate Athletics Work Group Committee in coordination with NCAA, Sun Belt Conference, Federal, State, and Local government guidelines, and designed to safely open facilities for workouts and help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 VIRUS.
