TROY, Ala. – The Texas State football team (3-8, 1-6 Sun Belt) held Troy (9-2, 7-0 Sun Belt) to its season low in points and total yards, but couldn't overcome six turnovers, falling by a score of 12-7 on Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The Bobcats held the Trojans to just 220 yards, and even out-gained Troy 284-220 in the game. However, freshman quarterback Tyler Vitt threw five interceptions while completing 9-of-23 passes for 155 yards in the game.
One of Vitt's completions came in the fourth quarter when he hit Mason Hays for a 38-yard strike to set up a three-yard run by Anthony D.
