TROY, Ala. – The Texas State softball team (37-12, 16-4 SBC) bounced back to take down the Troy Trojans (30-22, 14-11 SBC) on Sunday afternoon at the Troy Softball Complex.
In the top of the second inning, the Bobcats scored three runs on just one hit. Both Tara Oltmann and Bailee Carter drew walks to leadoff the frame. Haleigh Davis successfully advanced both runners with a well-placed sacrifice bunt. Kennedy Cline, Texas State's next batter, reached safely on a fielder's choice bunt back to the pitcher. Troy went home on the play, but Oltmann slid in just ahead of the tag to open the scoring.
