SAN MARCOS, Texas - The Sun Belt Conference released its 2016 football schedule on Thursday and Texas State will open its first season under new head coach Everett Withers playing three of the league's four bowl teams from last year.
The Bobcats begin their Sun Belt Conference slate at Georgia State on Oct. 8 and play at Appalachian State on Nov. 5 before closing out the season hosting Arkansas State on Dec. 3.
In addition, Texas State kicks off the season playing three non-conference games against 2015 bowl teams.
