LAIE, Hawaii – All nine guys that played Friday night for the Texas State men's basketball team scored at least four points as the Bobcats claimed a 78-65 victory over Southern Utah in the Cannon Activities Center. The victory advanced TXST to the title game that will be played Saturday.
With the win, the Bobcats improved to 4-2 on the season while the Thunderbirds drop to 3-3.
"I thought it was a hard-fought game and Southern Utah is a well-coached team. They can give many teams problems, but I'm proud of my team. They stepped up, locked into our defensive principles, and showed the amount of toughness and grit that it takes to be a two-time championship team in the Sun Belt," said head coach Terrence Johnson.
