SAN MARCOS, Texas- Texas State's Federica Tavelli-Westerlund has been named the Sun Belt Conference Golfer of the Week following an impressive performance at the Bama Beach Bash on March 20 and 21. This is the second time the sophomore has earned this award in her career.
In the first round of the Bama Beach Bash, hosted by South Alabama and UAB, Tavelli-Westerlund was in first with four-under 68. She also had the highest number of birdies in the rounds, with five. Tavelli-Westerlund was in front of 99 other players on the leaderboard, 30 being from the Sun Belt Conference.
