NEW ORLEANS – For the third consecutive week, a Texas State men's basketball player has been named the Sun Belt Conference's Player of the Week. Taking home the award for the first time in his career is Alonzo Sule following a stellar week against Houston Baptist and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
It is the first that a school has had three straight Sun Belt Men's Basketball Player of the Week awards since Jan. 6-23, 2012 when North Texas' Tony Mitchell won three weeks in a row.
Sule averaged 22.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game as the Bobcats defeated Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on the road and Houston Baptist at home.
