DALLAS – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) named Texas State's Tristan Stivors as the 2022 Stopper of the Year on Friday. He is the first player since the award's inception in 2005 to win the honor from the Sun Belt Conference.
Stivors put together the best season ever by a Bobcat closer with a program record and nation-leading 18 saves. He also sported a 7-1 record and 2.21 ERA that saw him surrender just 18 runs, 15 of them earned, and allow multiple runs in just four of his 32 appearances.
