SAN MARCOS, Texas – In the newest States Up podcast, Ja'Kayla Bowie from women's basketball looks back at the Bobcats' run to claim a share of the Sun Belt Conference regular season championship, her relationship with the coaching staff, and why she wants to be a coach after her playing career is over.
Bowie is one of four Bobcats who elected to return this season with their extra year of eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Alongside Da'Nasia Hood, Kennedy Taylor and Jaeda Reed, Bowie and the Bobcats surged down the stretch in conference play and won eight of their last 10 games to clinch the conference title – the first for the program in 15 years.
